The Ducimus Plinius Watchlist

At the close of every trading day I conduct a scan of the Canadian, US and European markets using a "Stockcharts" search syntax I personally developed, in order to identify those who could potentially display the characteristics of stocks entering Stage II, as described by Stan Weinstein in his book "Secrets For Profiting in Bull and Bear Markets".

À la fermeture de chaque jour, j'effectue un survol des marchés nord-américains et européens, survol effectué à l'aide d'une recette personnelle de recherche "Stockcharts" qui vise à identifier les titres ayant le potentiel d'entrer en Phase II, tel que décrit par Stan Weinstein dans  "Secrets pour gagner en bourse à la hausse et à la baisse".

Scan criteria

The principal scan criteria are basically set to identify stocks whose price is above their 150-day Moving Average and whose usual daily volume is at least 50,000 and exceed by a margin of 3:1 the usual volume levels displayed in the last 2 months.

Les critères de recherche visent, entre autres, à identifier les titres dont le prix est au-dessus de la moyenne mobile de 150 jours, dont le volume journalier est d'au moins 50,000 et qui dépasse d'au moins 3 fois le volume habituel des derniers 2 mois.

Processing of results

The scan will return a list potential candidates; which will in all likely-hood will contain stocks about to enter Stage II, some that are already well into Stage II, and some are not at all.  Since I am only looking for stocks entering (or about to enter) Stage II, I go through the list of candidates by inspecting each chart individually to determine which ones actually shows potential to cross above the Stage II Neckline and enter stage II; as described by Stan Weinstein.

Le résultat du survol contient des candidats potentiels; ceux qui sont prêt d'une entrée en Phase II, mais également ceux qui y sont déjà et certains qui n'y entreront jamais.  Étant donné que je suis exclusivement intéressé par les titre entrant (ou ayant le potentiel d'entrer) en Phase II, je doit analyser chaque graphique séparément afin de m'assurer qu'il s'agit bien d'un candidat qui pourrait potentiellement traverser la ligne de col de Phase II, tel que décrit par Stan Weinstein.

Conclusion

After inspecting the chart of each of the stocks listed on the scan return, I will add to my watchlist those that attract my attention by displaying characteristics signalling a potential entry into Stage II.

Suite à l'examen du graphique de chacun des titres contenus dans le résultat du survol, j'ajouterais les titres qui attirent mon attention en démontrant des caractéristiques signalant une entrée potentielle en Phase II.

Removal from the Watchlist

Stock will remain on the watchlist as long as they show the correct configuration.  I will remove stocks from the watchlist for one of the following reasons:

• The stock makes a confirmed entry into Stage II and therefore does not belong on the list anymore.
• I move the stock over to the Ducimus Plinius Portfolio because I have taken a position in it.
• The stock does not attempt a breakout and stays in Stage I.
• The stock fails in it's attempt to breakout into Stage II.
• A false breakout occurs.

Retrait de la liste de surveillance

Un titre demeure sur la liste de surveillance tant qu'il a une configuration correcte.  Je l'enlève pour l'une ou l'autre des raisons suivantes :

• Le titre à fait l'entrée désirée en Phase II et n'a donc plus sa raison-d'être sur la liste de surveillance.
• Je prends une position dans le titre et le bouge dans la section "portefeuille".
• Le titre n'effectue pas la tentative d'entrée en Phase II et demeure en Phase I.
• Le titre échoue dans sa tentative d'entrée en Phase II.
• Le titre effectue un faux "breakout".
